Kherson region receives demining machines from Howard Buffett Foundation
Ukraine will receive more equipment for demining agricultural land, including eight self-propelled machines. They will operate in Kherson region, says MP, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Dmytro Solomchuk, Ukrinform writes.
"Two mechanical demining machines purchased by Howard G. Buffett have arrived and have been handed over to the State Emergency Service. The SES is already demining [territories – ed.] in Kherson region. Six more machines are on the way," Solomchuk continues.
These machines can defuse mines and shells not only on the surface, he adds, but also those hidden in the ground.
The Ministry of Economy proposes establishing a state body to oversee humanitarian demining in Ukraine. This will help speed up the demining of agricultural land, allowing Ukrainian agrarians to start cultivating it sooner.
