Crop 2023: first million tons of sunflowerseeds harvested in Ukraine

The new crop campaign in Ukraine was completed on 8.9 mln ha as of September 14, 46% of the total planted in 2023. The crops yield 4.36 t/ha on average, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

Farms have harvested 35.2 million tons of new crop, including:

  • wheat: 22.15 mln t on 4.67 mln ha (101%), the avg. yield 4.72 t/ha
  • barley: 5.82 mln t on 1.5 mln ha (101%), 3.87 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.99 mln t on 1.39 mln ha (98%), 2.87 t/ha
  • peas: 386.5 thou. t on 154.4 thou. ha (103%), 2.5 t/ha
  • soybean: 624.8 thou. t on 257 thou. ha (14%), 2.43 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 617.1 thou. t on 14.1 thou. ha (6%), 43.68 t/ha
  • sunflower: 1.03 mln t on 498.6 thou. ha (10%), 2.08 t/ha
  • corn: 55.8 thou. t on 11.9 thou. ha (0.3%), 4,7 t/ha

Farmers in all regions of Ukraine are about to complete harvesting rapeseed.

Producers in eighteen regions are collecting buckwheat — the average yield indicators are around 1.44 t/ha.

Peas harvesting has been finalized in 19 regions.
