russia attacks Odesa port, injures two staff members and damages two merchant vessels

On 1 March, russia attacked the port infrastructure in Odesa with a ballistic missile. Two civilian port workers were injured in the attack, the Development Ministry reported.

Two merchant vessels were damaged: the Sierra Leonean-flagged bulk carrier SUPER SARKAS, which was loaded with more than 21,000 tons of corn and soybeans for export. The container ship MSC LEVANTE F, sailing under the flag of Panama and owned by a leading European company, also sustained damage.

This is the 29th civilian vessel to be targeted by russian attacks, the ministry said.

"Despite the enemy shelling, the Ukrainian maritime humanitarian corridor is running. It has already managed 106 million tons of cargo, almost 70 million tons of which is grain. These are 4,000 vessels that have delivered our agricultural products to the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe."

On October 9, russia attacked the port infrastructure of Odesa region with a ballistic missile. In the attack, 8 people were killed and 11 wounded.
