Barley yields reach 7 t/ha in Chernivtsi region as harvest begins
Early grain harvesting has started in Ukraine’s Chernivtsi region. Farmers have already threshed 500 hectares of winter barley with an average yield of 7 tons per hectare, the Chernivtsi Region Military Administration reported.

In particular, Continental Farmers Bukovyna has begun harvesting winter barley. The company is growing 3,800 hectares of barley, over 2,600 hectares of wheat, and 3,900 hectares of winter rapeseed in the region.
The harvesting campaign for winter wheat and rapeseed in the region is planned to start in the second decade of July, while spring barley and wheat will be harvested from the third decade of July.
In total, Chernivtsi region farmers will harvest wheat on 32,500 hectares, barley on 21,900 hectares, and rapeseed on 10,600 hectares.
As of June 27, farmers across Ukraine had harvested over 188,000 tons of new-crop grain from more than 74,000 hectares of early grains and pulses.
