Chornomorsk Port sets record for loaded containers handled in a single ship call

The Port of Chornomorsk became the first among all Big Odesa ports to receive a liner container vessel and remains the only state-owned port currently handling container cargo, the port’s press service reports.

Over the past 12 months, the port has handled more than 18,000 TEU. It continues to sign new contracts and prepare for an increase in cargo throughput.

On July 16, 2025, Chornomorsk Port set a new record for the number of loaded containers handled during a single ship call — 470 containers.

“In wartime conditions, maintaining liner container services contributes not only to the economy but also to national resilience. It supports Ukrainian businesses, farmers, manufacturers, and exporters. Our team is proud that Chornomorsk was the first port in Big Odesa to resume this type of operation,” said port management.
