Kernel considers participation in Odesa Port Plant privatization — LB
Kernel is considering taking part in the upcoming privatization auction of the Odesa Port Plant (OPP), the company told LB.ua in response to an inquiry.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine has announced its fifth attempt to privatize the plant. The auction is scheduled for November 25, with a starting price of UAH 4.5 billion. Previous sales were blocked by legal and political issues, while the chemical production facility has been idle since 2021.
According to LB.ua sources, Kernel has shown interest in the asset. In response to the outlet’s inquiry, the company confirmed it is reviewing participation in the auction but declined to provide further details.
In late June 2025, the OPP’s transshipment complex was hit during a russian drone and missile strike on Odesa region’s port infrastructure, halting grain handling. In early September, the plant announced it was working on resuming transshipment operations.
