Kharkiv region’s Svitanok Agrofirm estimates damage from russian drone strike that killed 13,000 pigs at around UAH 300 million

A massive russian drone attack on the Svitanok agricultural company in the Novovodolazka community of Kharkiv region caused extensive destruction and losses. According to preliminary estimates, about 13,000 pigs were killed, and the total damage could reach UAH 300 million, said company director Oleksandr Kolisnyk, cited by Suspilne Kharkiv.

The attack triggered fires over more than 13,000 square meters, damaging at least eight farm buildings. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Geran-2 kamikaze drones were used in the strike.

“The destruction is catastrophic. We counted about 24 strikes, the State Emergency Service recorded around 20 confirmed hits. The animals were killed, and the buildings are beyond repair. These were pig farms. They deliberately targeted the barns — for four hours, with intervals of 20–40 minutes. A warehouse was also damaged. But the animals are gone,” Kolisnyk said.

According to him, only a small number of pigs survived out of the total herd of about 15,000.

“We’re trying to save what’s still alive. Rescuers are working — the fire hasn’t been fully extinguished yet. We’re waiting for the aftermath assessment; pyrotechnicians still need to arrive. We’re not allowed inside the barns yet. Some buildings are in terrible condition — Shaheds hit them directly, pierced the roofs, and exploded inside. Everything burned down, including the animals,” he added.

Kolisnyk said all equipment was damaged, the livestock mostly perished, and given current live-weight prices, the financial losses are “extremely high.” The damage could amount to UAH 300 million.
