Ukraine’s agricultural sector needs over USD 55 billion for recovery — World Bank assessment

Ukraine’s agricultural sector will require more than USD 55 billion for recovery and reconstruction over the next decade, according to the updated Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA5) released by the Government of Ukraine, the World Bank, the European Commission, and the United Nations.

Agriculture ranks among the five most affected sectors of the economy.

Only the transport sector has higher financing needs — over USD 96 billion — followed by energy at nearly USD 91 billion, housing at around USD 90 billion, and trade and industry at more than USD 63 billion.

Overall, Ukraine’s total recovery and reconstruction needs are estimated at USD 588 billion through 2035 — nearly three times the country’s projected nominal GDP for 2025.

The assessment covers the period from February 2022 through December 2025.
