Ukraine close to completing sunflower harvest; output below 9 million tons, analysts may cut forecast again
Ukraine’s sunflower harvest is nearing completion: as of November 6, producers collected 8.7 million tons, covering 90% of planted areas, according to the Ministry of Economy.
The national average yield stands at 1.89 t/ha — down from 2.06 t/ha at the same date last year, when 9.6 million tons (95%) were harvested.
The highest yields are currently reported in Vinnytsia (3.2 t/ha), Ternopil (3.08 t/ha), and Khmelnytskyi (3.02 t/ha) regions.
Analysts at Barva Invest note that many large producers in Dnipropetrovsk region have not yet completed harvesting, raising concerns about whether they will finish in time. Given the expected low yields, Barva Invest maintains its harvest forecast at 11.2 million tons, though it may be revised downward to 10.6 million tons.
