The top three importers of Ukrainian sunflower oil in October were EU countries — India ranked fourth

In October 2025, exports of vegetable oils from Ukraine rose significantly. The total export value reached $619.5 million, a 65.4% increase compared to September. The physical export volume also grew by 63%, according to data from the AgroDigest monthly review of Ukraine’s agricultural trade published by the Ministry of Economy.

The main driver of growth was sunflower oil, exports of which more than doubled (2.2x) both in monetary terms and by volume. Soybean oil exports also showed positive dynamics, rising by about 28%.

In contrast, rapeseed oil exports fell by 14–15%. There was also a slight but noticeable increase in shipments of other oils, including cottonseed and mustard oil.

As usual, the key buyers of Ukrainian oils remained the EU and Asian countries. In October:

  • almost 60% of exports went to the European Union,
  • 35.2% — to Asian markets.

Major Importers (thousand tons):

  1. Spain — 50.9
  2. Italy — 50.3
  3. Netherlands — 43.4
  4. India — 43.1
  5. Iraq — 31.5

The highest demand among EU countries came from the Netherlands, Spain, and Poland.

Soybean oil was mainly exported to Poland, while sunflower oil saw active demand from both the EU and Asian markets, with Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, and India among the largest importers in October.

African countries remain secondary markets, importing relatively small volumes of Ukrainian vegetable oils.
