Russian drones attacked a vessel en route to Odesa for grain loading
Russian UAVs attacked a civilian merchant vessel sailing along Ukraine’s maritime corridor to Odesa to load grain, the Ministry for Development reported.
As a result of the attack, a fire broke out on board and the vessel’s navigation system was damaged. The crew extinguished the fire.
A patrol boat was dispatched to escort the vessel. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
During the night of April 14, drones attacked port infrastructure in the southern part of Odesa region. In the port of Izmail, a civilian vessel flying the Panamanian flag, a berth, a barge, and port equipment were damaged.
Later that day, a Russian drone struck another civilian vessel sailing via the maritime corridor to the ports of Greater Odesa to load corn, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported. A fire also broke out on board but was quickly extinguished by the crew. The vessel continued its voyage, and no one was injured.
On April 18, Russia again launched UAV attacks on ports in Odesa region. Corn silos were damaged and a fire broke out.
