Russian forces launched a missile strike on a grain elevator operated by the Ukrlandfarming group of companies in Sumy region. The attack caused significant damage to the facility, destroyed grain stocks and forced the elevator to suspend operations, the company’s press service said in a statement on Aug. 16.

One employee was injured in the attack. He received medical assistance and is currently in hospital.

Work is underway at the site to deal with the aftermath of the strike and assess the extent of damage to production buildings and equipment, as well as grain losses. The company said the elevator complex had been forced to completely halt operations due to the extensive damage.

Ukrlandfarming said this was not the first targeted attack by Russian forces on the holding’s production facilities and logistics infrastructure since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
