Wheat yields in Khmelnytskyi region highest in Ukraine
As of Aug. 24, Ukraine harvested 24.61 million tons of wheat from 5 million hectares, or 96.9% of the projected area. The average wheat yield stood at 4.92 tons per hectare (2025: 4.31), according to data from the Agriculture Ministry.
Wheat harvesting has been completed in 14 regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Chernihiv.
The highest wheat yield was recorded in Khmelnytskyi region at 7.3 tons per hectare. Growers there harvested 1.59 million tons of grain from 217,900 hectares.
Other regions also reported high wheat yields, including Sumy at 6.28 tons per hectare, Vinnytsia at 6.26 tons, Kyiv at 6 tons, Ternopil at 5.85 tons and Chernivtsi at 5.76 tons.
The largest wheat harvest so far has been recorded in Odesa region at 3.22 million tons. Dnipropetrovsk region harvested 2.02 million tons, Vinnytsia nearly 2 million tons, Kirovohrad 1.92 million tons and Mykolaiv 1.63 million tons.
Grains and legumes in Ukraine were harvested from 6.76 million hectares, or 57.9% of the projected area. Producers harvested 31.73 million tons of grain, with an average yield of 4.7 tons per hectare.
