The Ministry of Infrastructure and the whole maritime complex are not interested in Ukrainian rivers as transport arteries.

Such opinion was expressed by the CEO of NIBULON Company Aleksei Vadaturskiy in the interview to Latifundist.com.

The NIBULON Company CEO believes that some lobbying groups in Ukraine which control Odessa ports do everything in their power to prevent dredging in the Dnieper River.

Aleksei Vadaturskiy informed that there is a high possibility that the Company will do the dredging at its own expense next year.

"We independently performed the dredging in Southern Buh. We received 47 permissions and it took us 5 years. This year our company has transported 300 thousand tons of grain by Southern Bug and removed 12.5 thousand trucks from the road. These are not just words, but actions to restore the river transportation", he said.

According to Aleksei Vadaturskiy, it is necessary to  act decisively  and cancel  the excise collection for river transport.

"River transportation will be cheaper than any other type of transportation. The investments will come to shipbuilding and infrastructure. Our rivers will revive and become real transportation arteries. The Bill 2475a does not take into account local communities where river ports and river stations are located. We will have destroyed roads and infrastructure and the administration of domestic water ways will receive all benefits", he summed up.

It was previously reported that due to the failure of the railway company to provide carriages the NIBULON Company stopped harvesting of over 20 thousand tons of grain in Luhansk region.
