Ukrainian agrarians threshed 37 million tons of grain — Harvest Online 2017

As of August 18, 2017, the Ukrainian agrarians threshed 37.1 million tons of grain on the of area of 9.6 million hectares or 99% of the total harvested area. This data was announced in the framework of the joint project by Latifundist.com and AGCO Harvest Online 2017.

The average yield of threshed grain amounted to 3.86 tons/ha (in 2016 the average yield amounted to 3.94 tons/ha).

More detailed information on the harvest campaign (by crops) is as follows:

  • wheat — 6.4 million hectares out of 6.4 million hectares were harvested or 100% of total area, 26.5 million tons of grain were threshed, with an average yield of 4.17 tons/ha (in 2016 — 4.28 tons/ha);
  • barley — 2.5 million hectares out of 2.5 million hectares were harvested, which constitutes 100%, 8.6 million tons of grain were threshed, with a yield of 3.43 tons/ha (in 2016 — 3.4 tons/ha);
  • rye — 164 thousand hectares out of 168 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 97%, 460 thousand tons of grain were threshed, with an average yield of 2.81 tons/ha (in 2016 — 2.61 tons/ha);
  • oats — 180 thousand hectares out of 198 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 91%, 453 thousand tons of grain were threshed, with an average yield of 2.52 tons/ha (in 2016 — 2.54 tons/ha);
  • peas — 410 thousand hectares out of 410 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 100%, 1.1 million tons of pulses were threshed, with an average yield of 2.67 tons/ha (in 2016 — 3.22 tons/ha);
  • corn — 0.1 thousand hectares out of 4.5 million hectares were harvested, 200 tons of corn were threshed, with an average yield of 4 tons/ha;
  • rapeseed — 774 thousand hectares out of 787 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 98%, 2.1 million tons of grain were threshed, with an average yield of 2.76 tons/ha (in 2016 — 2.56 tons/ha).

The highest yields of early grain and legume crops were recorded in Khmelnitsky — 5.69 tons/ha, Ivano-Frankovsk — 5.25 tons/ha, Vinnitsa — 5.01 tons/ha, Ternopol — 4.99 tons/ha, Chernovtsy — 4.87 tons/ha, and Lvov — 4.86 tons/ha regions.
