Representatives of the EU Twinning project got acquainted with the quality control system of the products of the leading Ukrainian manufacturer of plant protection products and mineral fertilizers manufactured in Cherkassy, UKRAVIT company.

This is reported by the company's press service.

August 31, Cherkassy was visited by a delegation consisting of the head of the Agrochemicals Department of the State Service for Plants under the Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania, Darius Bashkisa, the head of the plant protection department of the State Plant Protection Service of Latvia Inga Aizpura and the deputy head of plant protection department of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Vladimir Kalashnikov.

They visited the production facilities of the agrochemicals factory (UKRAVIT), thoroughly acquainted with the production, packaging, storage and control system of plant protection products and mineral fertilizers.

Darius Bashkis said that the purpose of the Twinning project is to bring Ukrainian legislation in the area of plant protection products closer to the requirements of the European one.

"And today we arrived in Cherkasy to get acquainted with the quality assurance system for plant protection products, which is provided by large Ukrainian producers," he added.

Director of the UKRAVIT agrochemicals plant Vladimir Ilchenko said that the company is completing preparations for the launch of its own research and development center that will analyze and control the existing products and develop new ones, analyze soil and all types of crops.

"Today, Cherkassy produces almost 140 kinds of products for protection against pests and diseases of all crops, producing about 8 thousand tons of products per year. And the planned launch in November of this year of a research center will expand the possibilities in creating new products and provide the maximum range of services for agricultural producers, which until now have not been implemented in Ukraine. Today, our scientists are exploring the possibility of innovative production of ecological plant protection products. This will be a revolution in Ukraine's agriculture, as it will enable us to introduce an innovative system of growing crops with a significant increase in crop yields and, most importantly, environmental friendliness," said Vladimir Ilchenko.

Let us remind that UKRAVIT held a practical conference, where farmers received useful information on innovative methods for preserving harvest.
