In August 2017 Ukraine produced 73 thousand tons of poultry meat

According to Ukrstat information in August 2017 Ukrainian companies produced 73.3k tons of poultry meat which has been slightly lower vs. both July and August 2016.

This is reported by Share UA Potential, referring to the data of State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Industrial output of fresh poultry meat in August increased y-o-y by 1.5% (to 58.3k tons), while frozen chicken meat output fell by 17% to 15k tons.

In total in January-August 2017, Ukrainian enterprises produced 676k tons of poultry meat, +7% y-o-y. In volume terms growth made 43k tons, the main driver of growth is export. In 8 months 2017, export increased y-o-y by 37k tons up to 192k tons (close to 28% of total industrial poultry production).

The source notes that both production and export of chicken meat dynamics during the last four months worsened vs. the beginning of Y2017. On the other side, recent growth of Ukrainian domestic poultry prices should positively influence producers’ profitability, but can also lead to the growth of poultry import to Ukraine.

As it was reported earlier, in Y2016 Ukrainian companies produced 991k tons of poultry meat (by 12% more than in Y2015), export made up 240k tons or +49% vs. Y2015.
