Ukraine and Turkey negotiated the supply of Ukrainian beef and cattle

On November 2, a bilateral meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and Turkey was held on the possibility of export of beef and cattle.

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection informs, that considering the interest of Ukrainian producers in exporting to Turkey, the Ukrainian side called on Turkey to comply with international standards, in particular the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, regarding the implementation of trade in accordance with the requirements for countries with undetermined status for bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).

The Ukrainian delegation noted that there are no cases of BSE in the territory of Ukraine.

"Now the competent body of Ukraine is carrying out a program to determine the status of Ukraine as a country with a controlled risk of BSE, which has been approved and implemented since April of this year," the report says.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine in January-September 2017 exported 30 thousand tons of fresh and frozen cattle meat for US$ 83.31 million.
