Polish egg producers are nervous about Avangard entering the EU market

Polish egg producers are concerned about competition with Ukraine after the European Commission authorized Avangard to export eggs to the EU, informs the Polish Chamber of Poultry Meat and Feed Producers (KIPDiP).

The KIPDiP management believes that the decision taken by the European Commission will entail a number of serious consequences for Polish companies engaged in egg production. A significant deterioration in the profitability of exports from Poland is expected.

The Polish Chamber notes that the share of imports of eggs and processed products from Ukraine to the EU systematically increases: at the end of 2014 it was 4%, and in 2016 — 50%.

Prior it was reported that Avangard received EU approval to export shell eggs.
