Gnidava sugar plant to introduce ISO 22000 standard

Gnidava sugar plant is currently undergoing modernization processes. The upcoming investment of the company will be the implementation of the ISO 22000 standard, the compnay informed.

"Ukraine has already reached the level when the consumer requires a certain quality of the product, and this is the appropriate hygiene and safety of the product that the plant produces. Accordingly, each investment should imply not only the establishment of certain equipment, but the infrastructure as well, logistics and other norms stipulated by the European standards," commented Gleb Galkevitch, Deputy Chairman of the Board.

Previously it was reported that Gnidava sugar plant prepared for the operation the first pulp press of the company Babbini.

ISO 22000 is a standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization dealing with food safety. It is a general derivative of ISO 9000.

Note: Ukrainian sugar market in 2017 was dominated by 10 companies.
