Ukraine supplies 170-200k tons of sunflower meal to China in 2017/18

The forecast for the export of Ukrainian sunflower meal to China in MY2017/18 is increased from 150 thou. tons to 170-200 thou. tons, APK-Inform reports.

In the first half of April 2018 the exported volume reached 44 thou. tons, and since the beginning of the current season — 93 thou. tons.

The total share of the top three companies exporting Ukrainian sunflower meal to China is about 80% of the total supply in the current season.

"Kernel provided 53% of the total volume, Delta Wilmar CIS — 17%, Melitopol OCP — 10%," the analysts note.

Reference: the demand for Ukrainian sunflower meal increased sharply in Q1 2018 due to the significantly increased purchases by China since December 2017.
