Kusto Agro doubles its land bank

The company Kusto Agro plans to double its land bank to 25 thou. hectares.

"The company started operating in 2011 with constructing elevators. Today, there are three silos with the capacity of 90 thou. tons. The landbank today amounts to 11.5 thou. hectares and it is planned to expand it to 25 thou. hectares," says the director of the company Volodymyr Siruy.

The company has already completed rapeseed harvesting, and now wheat cropping is in progress. Fieldworks are conducted in Zhytomyr and Khmelnytsky regions. Drought in spring and prolonged rains significantly affected the yield.

"All collected wheat is of the 3rd class. It was planned to harvest 6.5 tons/ha, but the actual indicators stand at 6.3–6.4 tons/ha," the message notes.

Late crop varieties were less affected by weather conditions.

"Soy, for example, has benefited from such weather. Corn and sunflower are also in good condition," Volodymyr Siruy comments.
