Ukrainian grain exports since the start of 2018/19 dropped 5%

Ukraine since the beginning of MY2018/19, as of August 15, 2018, exported 3.89 mln tons of grain, which is 221 thou. tons less y-o-y.

According to the State Fiscal Service data, the volumes of the exported crops for the reporting period are as follows:

  • wheat — 1.67 mln tons (–11 thou. tons y-o-y);
  • barley — 1.15 mln tons (–281 thou. tons);
  • corn — 1.03 mln tons (+33 thou. tons);
  • rye — 8.8 thou. tons (+8.8 thou. tons).

Reference: the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the grain market participants signed the Memorandum of Understanding for MY2018/19. The total agreed indicative volume of wheat exports is 16 mln tons, that is milling and fodder wheat will be exported in equal volumes — 8 mln tons each.
