LNZ Group allocated 10% of farmland for winter wheat
LNZ Group will plant c.7 thou. hectares with winter wheat which represent 10% if the company's farmland. Winter barley will be planted on 90 hectares of hybridization sites. This was informed by Roman Franchuk, Director for Agriproduction at LNZ Group.
He commented that the fields are not yet fully prepared for sowing. The company is harvesting sunflower.
"The autumn sowing campaign started very well. There is enough moisture in our fields. The company is fully provided with all necessary resources. I'm only afraid that it may rain, and it will be difficult for us to complete sowing," Roman Franchuk said.
Last season, the yield of winter crops in the holding was within 5 tons/ha. But it is necessary to take into account the fact that winter crops in the LNZ Group are sown after predecessor sunflower. This decision was made by the company since corn is a strategic crop, which takes 50% of the crop rotation structure and is the most profitable one.
Previously it was reported that LNZ Specialized Corn Plant had started functioning. Most processes at the plant are computerized. 130 people are employed in the plant.
