Rapeseed oil exports from Ukraine in Jul-Aug 2018/19 doubled

The indicators of the first two months of the new export season of rapeseed oil have reached record levels due to the increase in the processing of rapeseed in Ukraine, UkrAgroConsult informs.

In total, in July-August of MY2018/19, c.43 thou. tons of rapeseed oil were supplied to foreign markets, which is almost twice the indicator for the same period last year. In August of this year, Ukraine exported 15.8 thou. tons of rapeseed oil compared to 15.8 thou. tons last month and 21.3 thou. tons last August.

Experts project that in MY2018/19 Ukraine should beat the record of rapeseed oil export statistics.

The EU remains the key importer of Ukrainian rapeseed oil, accounting for 79% of total exports. Among the European countries, there has been an increase in purchases caused by a decrease in the rapeseed crop. The main volumes are shipped to Poland and France. In addition, China has significantly increased purchases of the Ukrainian product and its market share to 19%.
