Global corn export forecast increased to 163 mln t

The forecast for global corn exports in MY2018/19 has been increased by 1.26 million tons to 162.97 million tons as compared to the previous forecast.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) informs that this forecast is 15.84 million tons higher than the MY2017/18 volume.

The global corn production in MY2018/19 is projected at 1,068.31 million tons, which is 0.69 million tons less than the previous forecast and 34.08 million tons less than the produced volume in MY2017/18.

The forecast for corn production in Ukraine has not changed and amounts to 31 million tons, and exports are expected at 25 million tons.

Previously it was reported that by October 11 Ukrainian agrarians had harvested 11.9 million tons of corn from 1.9 million hectares.
