Sugar supplies in October boosted five times

In October of the current marketing year, Ukrainian producers exported 58.3 thou. tons of sugar, which is 5 times more than the previous month, the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar) informs.

“The major deliveries were made to Uzbekistan — 60% and Azerbaijan — 22%. Also, minor shipments were carried out to Tajikistan (5%), Armenia and Moldova (3% each),” commented Ruslana Butylo, Head of the Analytical Department at the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar).

In total, over the first two months of MY2018/2019, 69.4 thou. tons of sugar was exported from Ukraine.

By the Ukrsugar estimates, sugar exports in the current marketing year should reach c.500-600 thou. tons, while Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan will remain the main importing countries.

As of November 14, sugar mills produced 1.2 million tons of produce having processed 9.2 million tons of sugar beet. Nine sugar refineries have already completed the production season.
