Grain inventories in Ukraine 12 mln tons higher than in 2017

As of November 1, 2018, inventories of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine amounted to 36.41 million tons, which is 12 million tons more than in last year's comparative period, APK-Inform writes.

By the reporting date, there were 10.4 million tons of wheat, 18.04 million tons of corn, 1.87 million tons of barley, 144 thou. tons of rye, and 8.46 million tons of sunflower.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as of the reporting date of 2018, 2.5 million tons of crops were stored at agricultural enterprises, and 13.9 million tons were stored at enterprises engaged in processing and storage.

As it was reported earlier, by November 19, 2018, grain and leguminous crops were harvested on 14.3 mln ha or 96% of the areas. 66.4 mln tons of grain were threshed with a productivity of 4.65 tons/ha (2017: 4.18 tons/ha).
