New GE locomotives will deliver grain to the port of Mykolaiv — Kravtsov

The locomotives TE33A, manufactured by General Electric, will be used to transport grain to the port of Mykolaiv. This was informed by acting Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsya on his Faсebook page.

Ukrzaliznytsya started operating the new traction on December 13, 2018.

“We will also redirect locomotives to an important railway line to the port of Mykolaiv to ensure the export of Ukrainian grain during this peak period,” Yevgeny Kravtsov wrote.

He noted that by now 20 General Electric locomotives have arrived in Ukraine, of which 8 are completed at the Kryukovsky railway car building works and are ready for operation. By the end of this year, another 12 diesel locomotives will be delivered to Ukraine.

“Ukrzaliznytsia has not received the new diesel locomotives for the last 25 years,” Yevgeny Kravtsov added.

Ukrzaliznytsia created a freight wagon cars fleet operator — UZ Cargo Wagon LLC.
