Farmland market in Ukraine may start in 2020

There exists a high probability that the agricultural land market in Ukraine will be opened in 2020. Such an opinion was expressed by Olga Khodakovskaya, Deputy Director of the National Scientific Centre "Institute of Agrarian Economy", Ukrinform reports.

“Today there is a possibility that starting from 2020 farmland market will be introduced. However, the current version of the law is different from the previous ones. Its difference lies in the fact that this time, in addition to the norm, which postpones the introduction of a market, this document directly instructs the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to draft and submit to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a Law of Ukraine on agricultural land market before March 1, 2019," said Olga Khodakovskaya.

According to her, it is expected that during this period the necessary legal acts will be developed, which will define clear market rules and ensure the gradual introduction of agricultural land into the market turnover.

As reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine extended the moratorium on farmland sale to the year 2020.
