Grain export 2018/19: supplies improved to 26 mln t

Since the start of MY2018/19, as of January 23, Ukraine exported 26.45 mln tons of grain, which is 3.59 mln tons more than the indicator for the last year's comparative period.

According to the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the volumes of exported crops are as follows:

  • wheat — 11.24 million tons (0.74 mln tons less y-o-y);
  • corn — 11.43 million tons (4.45 mln tons more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.27 million tons (0.66 mln tons less y-o-y);
  • rye — 81.5 thou. tons (68.3 thou. tons more y-o-y).

In 2018, the Ukrainian agriproducers reported a 70.1 mln t harvest of grain and leguminous crops which is 13% higher than the previous year's indicator of 62 mln t.

As previously reported, in 2018 Ukraine exported 41.67 million tons of grain crops, which is 0.4% less than 2017 shipments.
