Grain shipment in ports decreased 30 pct

In the period from February 23rd to March 1st, 816 thou. tons of main grain crops were exported from the Ukrainian seaports. This indicator is 30 pct less week-to-week, the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

The decrease in the total export of wheat amounted to 67 pct (99 thou. tons), corn exports decreased 15 pct to 717 thou. tons. Barley was not shipped in the reporting period.

The top-3 importers of grain are Egypt (215 thou. tons), Spain (174 thou. tons) and China (70 thou. tons).

The leading position in terms of the transshipment volume of main crops in the current marketing year is held by the port of Mykolaiv (8 million tons). The ports of Chernomorsk and Yuzhny provided for the transshipment of 6.9 million tons and 6 million tons, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that during the year 2018 the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (SFGCU) had shipped 875 thou. tons of grain to its main partner — China National Complete Engineering Corporation (CCEC) for a total of USD 152.9 million. Grain was supplied within the framework of the bilateral grain project.
