February rapeseed exports from Ukraine down 94 pct

In February 2019, rapeseed exports from Ukraine reduced 94.7 pct to 8 thou. tons vs 150 thou. tons in January of the current year, the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

In July-February 2018/19, Ukraine supplied 2.43 million tons of rapeseed to foreign markets, 17 pct more from the relevant period last season.

“By our forecasts, the export volume of rapeseed in 2018/19 should reach 2.5 million tons, which will be the maximum figure for the last 10 seasons and the second largest after the 2008/09 record,”  Julia Ivanitskayathe oil markets analyst at APK-Inform, informs.

In 2018, Ukraine’s foreign trade turnover in agricultural products reached more than USD 24.3 billion, of which USD 18.8 billion is agro-export. A large share of Ukrainian agricultural export was traditionally formed by grain crops contributing 38.4%, vegetable oil — 23.3%, and oilseeds — 10.2%.
