Kernel scaled up sunflower oil trade by 40 pct

Key sunflower oil exporter from Ukraine, the Kernel company, increased the volumes of sunflower oil sold in Q3 FY2019 to 390 thousand tons, up 40 per cent y-o-y given the low last year’s comparison base.

"Sales of bottled sunflower oil reached strong 34 million liters in January-March 2019, up 31 per cent y-o-y," the report says.

Kernel oil-extraction plants processed 908 thousand tons of sunflower seeds in Q3 FY2019, a 7 per cent increase y-o-y, operating at full capacity and delivering the largest ever volumes for the third quarter of the company’s financial year.

In 9M FY2019, the company scaled up sunflower oil sales by 17.8 per cent to 1.17 million tons, having simultaneously reduced the volume of oilseeds processing by 1.5 per cent to 2.27 million tons.

Previously it was reported that Kernel company initiated the construction of the Starokostiantyniv crushing plant. The designed capacity of the enterprise is 1 million ton per year.
