Kernel increases storage capacity by the end of 2018/19

By the end of 2018/19, the Kernel company is set to increase the elevator capacity by 245 thou. tons. Besides, the company's new port terminal opening is scheduled for autumn. This was informed by Juriy Pugach, Head of the Production Assets Management, in the interview with Elevatorist.com.

“By the end of the current marketing year, we plan to increase the elevator capacity by 245 thou. tons, as well as the capacity for receiving, drying and shipment at 5 different sites by the end of summer 2019 to provide an additional 750 thou. tons of annual throughput of internal elevators,” said Yuri Pugach.

According to him, the construction was decided collectively, based on the needs of the company's export program.

“We are commissioning several new elevators in the western and northern regions. In autumn 2019, we are planning to open a new grain terminal. Another 5-6 elevators will be modernized: we plan to completely rebuild the facility in Yarmolyntsi, to enhance the dryer capacity in the Gutiansky elevator. At some sites, the shipment capacity will be increased, at others — receiving. The general objective is to scale up the turnover of our assets,” Juriy Pugach commented.

Previously it was reported that in 9M FY2019 Kernel boosted the volume of grain exports to 7.97 million tons, 2.6x more from the corresponding period of FY2018.
