Beef trade brought Ukraine USD 23 mln

In Q1 2019, Ukraine exported 7.5 thou. tons of beef (fresh, chilled or frozen) worth USD 23.2 million.

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFSU) reports that in January-March 2019 3.6 thou. tons of fresh or chilled cattle meat were exported from Ukraine for the amount of USD 11.2 million.

The key importers of Ukrainian beef in the reporting period are as follows:

  • Belarus — 1.9 thou. tons worth USD 5.9 million (52.9 pct of deliveries);
  • Turkey — 1.7 thou. tons, USD 5.2 million (46.9 pct);
  • the U.A.E. — 2.9 tons, USD 9 thou. (0.08 pct);
  • others — 5 tons, USD 16 thou. (0.14 pct).

Export of frozen beef from Ukraine in January-March 2019 amounted to 3.9 thou. tons worth USD 12 million.

The following countries are major importers beef in the indicated period:

  • Kazakhstan — 1.3 thou. tons worth USD 4 million (33.9 pct);
  • Azerbaijan — 0.9 thou. tons, USD 3 million (25.2 pct);
  • Belarus — 0.8 thou. tons, USD 2.5 million (21 pct);
  • others — 0.7 thou. tons, USD 2.4 million (19.7 pct).

In the year 2018, Ukraine exported 15.7 thou. tons of fresh/chilled beef for the amount of USD 45 million.
