TAS AGRO harvesting early grains

In the Southern production cluster (Mykolaiv region) of the TAS AGRO agricultural holding, grain harvesting campaign 2019 began with the threshing of early winter crops.

In the first days, 300 hectares of winter barley were harvested. In total, during the campaign, it is planned to crop early grains from the area of 21 thou. hectares.

By the company's report, the largest share of grain crops is traditionally occupied by winter wheat — 19.5 thou. hectares, and winter barley — 1.5 thou. hectares.

The company notes that the harvest started under favourable weather conditions and within the planned agronomic terms. TAS AGRO plans to use more than 200 units of machinery for harvesting early grains. Of these, 60 units are combine harvesters and 150 are grain trucks.

"This year, grain harvesters are equipped with a monitoring system, providing for a quick analysis of the efficiency and effectiveness of their work. Also, all the grain elevators and storage facilities of the agroholding are prepared to receive the harvest. As for the yield, we are satisfied with the first results and hope that we will have a bulk yield above the average in Ukraine," said Viktor Belkot, Head of Agriproduction at TAS AGRO.

The management of the TAS AGRO agricultural holding plans to increase the landbank by more than 20 thou. hectares.

As previously reported, as of June 25th, agriproducers of Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovograd and Poltava region started early grains harvesting.
