Grain Alliance started harvesting winter wheat

Grain Alliance has started winter wheat harvesting. The Northern cluster of the company in Poltava region was the first to start the cropping campaign 2019. Compared to last year, the grain harvest here has started a week earlier.

"We hope to get a good harvest since in autumn winter wheat emerged well, wintering was successful, and in spring we carried out fertilization on time. And although June was hot, and we did not have enough good rain for grain filling, we have a good yield of 6 t/ha. Milling wheat of 2nd category also has good grain moisture," comments Aleksandr Yanenko, deputy regional agronomist of the company.

The agroholding notes that if the weather does not contribute to a quick harvest, losses may occur. Therefore, the company is trying to finish harvesting in time.

As at July 9th, agriproducers in Kherson region have harvested 1.5 Mt of grain crops on 70 percent of areas.
