Egypt purchased 60 thou. tons of Ukrainian wheat

Grain market operators reported that the General Authority For Supply Commodities (GASC) of Egypt purchased 240 thousand tons of wheat originating from Ukraine and Romania at the tender, the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

"GASC procured 60 thousand tons of grain of Ukrainian origin from LDC at USD 198 per ton, plus USD 17.34 per ton of freight," the message says.

The importer also contracted Romanian wheat from ADM — two consignments of 60 thousand tons each at USD 198 per ton, plus USD 15.44 per ton of freight, and Glencore — 60 thousand tons at USD 198 per ton, plus USD 15.44 per ton of freight.

Under the tender terms, the delivery of wheat to the importer is scheduled for August 10-20 of the current year.

In the 2018/19 season, grain exports from Ukraine reached 49,74 mmt. This volume is 21 percent (10,37 mmt) higher from the indicator for the last year's comparative period (39,37 mmt).
