Astarta harvested a 5% lower yield of winter wheat
The agri-industrial holding Astarta-Kyiv harvested 264 thousand tons of early grain crops on 53 thousand hectares.
Due to favourable wintering conditions, the average yield of wheat was 5,1 t/ha, 24% higher from the average in Ukraine. Despite a 5% lower yield compared to the plan the harvested crop has high quality, the company notes.
“The harvesting campaign of early crops was performed according to the agronomic plans. The farming team demonstrated high standard of professionalism responding in kind to all the challenges of the season. As of today, we are preparing for the next stage — harvesting of industrial crops, namely soya, sunflower, sugar beet, corn. All the crops are in good condition,” commented Vadym Skrypnyk, Head of Farming Division.
New crop was shipped to seven silos including the two silos commissioned this year. The total capacity of all seven silos is 550 thousand tons.
Earlier it was reported that Astarta-Kyiv cut sunflower sales by 62% or by 28.53 thousand tons in H1 2019.
