President Zelenskiy set a deadline for farmland market liberalization in Ukraine

The land reform will be implemented in the middle of next year, and the law on the market of agricultural land and the lifting of the moratorium on farmland sale must be submitted to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Parliament) by October 1st, 2019. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, reports.

"This is the liberalization of the land market. But at the same time, we emphasize that we organize it so that no one loses land, so that people become richer as a result of this reform, and not vice versa, so that there are no raiding cases. It will be introduced when we are ready for it, and we plan to start it in the middle of next year," said Oleksiy Honcharuk.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy specified the terms of land reform implementation for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers.

"A draft law on the agricultural land market and the lifting of the moratorium on the sale of farmland should be elaborated and submitted to the Parliament by October 1st, 2019. The responsible are Oleksiy Honcharuk and Tymofiy Mylovanov (Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine – ed.). It must be explained to the public that none will be deprived of land. The land reform model is aimed primarily at developing farming and protecting the interests of small agribusinesses. Dmitry Razumkov, David Arahamia, Mykola Solskiy are responsible for the adoption of the law on the land market and the lifting of the moratorium by December 1st, 2019. Oleksiy Honcharuk, Tymofiy Mylovanov are responsible for filling in the StateGeoCadastre 100% of the information on land plots by January 1st, 2019," summed up the President.
