Corn export in Jan-Aug: key markets for Ukraine

Corn exports from Ukraine in January-August 2019* totalled 22.4 mln t for the amount of USD 3.67 bln.
According to the data of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, the key importers of corn in the reporting period are as followed:
- China — USD 500 mln (13.61%);
- the Netherlands — USD 454.16 mln (12.36%);
- Egypt — USD 440.17 mln (11.98%);
- other countries — USD 2.28 bln, 5.6 mln t (62.05%).
As a reminder, against the background of the U.S.-China trade war, Ukrainian corn producers began replacing American suppliers in the Chinese market.
Since the start of 2019/20, Ukraine exported 1.93 mln t of corn, up 516 thou. t y-o-y.
