Grain shipment in Pivdenny seaport boosted 55 pct

Pivdenny Sea Port in Odesa region increased grain transshipment volume in January-September of the current year by 54.9% to 7.72 mln t.

As reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), transshipment of chemical cargoes and mineral fertilizers surged 3.1x to 440.67 thou. t.

Transshipment of export cargo by seaport improved by 36.4% up to 28.3 mln t, import cargo — by 6% to 5.29 mln t, transit cargo — by 19.1% up to 5.04 mln tons. Short sea shipping dropped 8.3x to 17.45 thou. t.

In total, Pivdenny Port intensified its cargo turnover by 28.4% to 38.66 mln t in the reporting period vs. the prior year's comparative period.

As a reminder, in 9M 2019 Ukrainian seaports provided for the transshipment of more than 37.6 mln t of grain cargoes, 36.9% more from the prior year's comparative period.
