Grain export 2019/20: rye shipment 15x lower YoY

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukrainian seaports have shipped 34.2 mln t of staple grains for export vs. 26.39 mln t in the prior season's comparative period.

As of Jan. 22, commodities shipment increased by 7.8 mln t from the comparative period of the previous year, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

Grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 15.48 mln t (4.26 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.82 mln t (562 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 14.51 mln t (3.21 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (76.5 thou. t less y-o-y).

Earlier it was reported that grain prices in the Black Sea region continued recovering from the low point of the season reached in September 2019.
