President Zelenskiy initiated an unscheduled parliamentary session over land bill

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy was forced to convene an extraordinary parliamentary session on Wednesday, Mar. 4, as the Parliament blocked the consideration of the land bill No. 2178-10. This was announced by First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, AgroPolit.com reports.

"The President of Ukraine initiated an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada. There is only one reason for this — the Verkhovna Rada has actually blocked the consideration of the law on land market, but urgent decisions have to be made. Among other things, parliamentary control must be exercised. There is no manipulation with authority," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

According to him, the President has exercised the only procedural and process power to announce the convening of an extraordinary meeting, as well as to determine the order of issues that he would like to consider.

As a reminder, a new legislative project on the land market will be prepared for residents of the occupied territories of Donbas, but only after the region is de-occupied.
