Minister Petrashko announced business support as key objective amid pandemic

The newly appointed Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Igor Petrashko put the priorities for the government department work during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Parliament).

"The priority is to support and balance the Ukrainian producer in the situation when the markets will close. The EU markets will introduce protectionist measures and other restrictions. It is important now to help Ukrainian business to preserve production, jobs and wages," stated Igor Petrashko.

Another important step, he stressed, is to create fundamental conditions for Ukrainian business in Ukraine to function well.

"If the Ukrainian business' work in the country is stable, there will be an inflow of foreign investments and financing from abroad. We will see how it will cope with this task in the near future," the Minister concluded.

As a reminder, on Mar. 17 the Parliament adopted a resolution on appointment of Igor Petrashko as Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, who previously held the position of Deputy CEO at Ukrlandfarming.
