Sowing Online 2019/20: spring crops planted on 1.3 mln ha

As of Apr. 2, early spring grain, leguminous and industrial crops in Ukraine are sown on an area of 1.3 mln ha or 9% of the projected areas. Provided by the data of the Sowing Online 2019/20 Project, sown areas by spring crops are as follows:

  • wheat: 101 thou. ha, 77% of the planned 132 thou. ha;
  • barley: 714 thou. ha, 65% of 1.1 mln ha;
  • oats: 77 thou. ha, 81% of 95 thou. ha;
  • peas: 299 thou. ha, 76% of 396 thou. ha;
  • corn: 37 thou. ha, 0.06% of 5.4 mln ha;
  • sugar beet: 24 thou. ha, 12% of 200 thou. ha;
  • sunflower: 91 thou. ha, 1.5% of 6.2 mln ha.

Odesa (150 thou. ha), Kharkiv (120 thou. ha) and Kherson (108 thou. ha) regions have progressed most in spring sowing campaign so far.
