Sowing Online 2019/20: soybean planting started

As of Apr. 9, early spring grain, leguminous and industrial crops in Ukraine are sown on an area of 1.3 mln ha or 9% of the projected areas. Provided by the data of the Sowing Online 2019/20 Project, sown areas by spring crops are as follows:

  • wheat: 112.3 thou. ha, 85% of the planned 132.5 thou. ha;
  • barley: 854.2 thou. ha, 78% of 1.1 mln ha;
  • oats: 86.5 thou. ha, 91% of 95 thou. ha;
  • peas: 346.6 thou. ha, 88% of 396 thou. ha;
  • corn: 290.1 thou. ha, 5.4% of 5.4 mln ha;
  • sugar beet: 117.4 thou. ha, 56% of 200 thou. ha;
  • sunflower: 861.8 thou. ha, 14% of 6.2 mln ha;
  • soybean: 23.8 thou. ha, 1.7% of 1.4 mln ha.

Cherkasy (237 thou. ha), Khmelnytsk (208.5 thou. ha), Vinnytsya (176 thou. ha) and Mykolaiv (168 thou. ha) regions have progressed most in spring sowing campaign so far.
