US winter wheat 68% harvested

As of July 12, winter wheat harvest in the US was 68% completed. In 2019, agriproducers covered 54% of the areas. The 5-year average indicator stands at 66%, the USDA report data show.

68% of spring wheat crops are in good and excellent condition (2019: 76%). 80% of crops have come into ear (2019: 72% and 85% average within the last five years).

Corn crops condition on the reporting date:

  • excellent — 17% of plantings (10% in the comparative period of 2019);
  • good — 52% (48%);
  • fair — 23% (30%);
  • poor — 6% (9%);
  • very poor — 2% (3%).

As of the reporting date, 14% of soybean is in excellent condition (8% in 2019), 54% good (46%), 25% fair (34%), 5% poor (9%), 2% very poor (3%).

Ukraine's wheat harvest in 2020/21 is forecast at 25.3 mln t, or 11% lower YoY (2019/20: 28.3 mln t).
