Corn average yield in Ukraine lower from Russian first since 1992 — Agritel

In Ukraine and Russia, respectively 8% and 6% of the corn crops are left in the fields. On Friday, Ukrainian producers collected 26.3 mln t with an average yield of 5.23 t/ha and Russian 13.8 mln t with an average yield of 5.42 t/ha, the Agritel consultancy writes.
The average yield in Ukraine as of November 26 was 3.5% lower from Russian.
"Thus, for the second time since the fall of the Soviet bloc, the average Russian corn yield could exceed the average yield in Ukraine! Indeed, one has to go back to 1992 to observe better productivity in Russia than in Ukraine. The average yield did not exceed 3 t/ha at that time," the message reads.
As reported by the Russian Agrarian Ministry, grains and pulses were harvested on 46.3 mln ha or 98.8% of the planned areas as of November 27. Agriproducers threshed 137.5 mln t of new crop using the average yield of 2.97 t/ha.
